However, his search for the best varieties of this special wood proved challenging. Few suppliers existed and even fewer understood its unique characteristics. Willis, being a determined and exacting soul, decided to assemble his own crew to start searching sites throughout the country for antique lumber. Soon he began studying and purchasing his own heart pine and other antique lumber. And before long he wasn’t just building a house he was building a business.
In 1987 – equipped with a warehouse of high grade material, a network of resources and an encyclopedic knowledge of antique lumber – Vintage Lumber Sales was born. In the years since, Vintage Lumber Sales has become one of the country's foremost suppliers of heart pine, oak and old growth cypress
And now with 20 years plus experience working with reclaimed lumber and the leading architects, builders and interior designers in the country, Vintage Interiors joins Vintage Lumber Sales. Vintage Interiors — a turn-key, full-service, construction management company — was born out of our unique, start-to-finish, hands-on approach to residential, commercial and hospitality projects. The same passion, commitment, and expertise that led to the birth of Vintage Lumber Sales is at the foundation of Vintage Interiors.
